Penn State Game

Those of you that don't know, Curtis is a HUGE Penn State fan and has been since he was a little boy. Yes, he grew up in Mississipp, but he fell in love with Penn State football. We never would have thought we would end up living in Pennsylvania for a few years, but here we are! And since we don't know if our stay here will be extended for a few more, we decided to take the opportunity to go to a PSU game while we were so close! It was still about a 4 hour trip, but well worth the drive! We had LOTS of fun, even though it was rainy and chilly most of the game. It was an amazing experience, the crowd was awesome, the student section very entertaining - they kept the wave going for 6 full times around the stadium and the game was a pretty good one to!

The scoreboard before the game started.

Some of the players warming up.

Us in the stands trying to stay warm and dry - our feet were pretty wet when we got to the car, but other than that, it wasn't so bad!

A play during the game

The Nittany Lion

The final score 34-7 (PSU)

And on our way out of State College we saw a full double rainbow - it was truly a beautiful sight and an end to a wonderful day!

Aubrey's first belt in karate

After participating in 4 classes, the students get their first belt - it is red, white and blue. Aubrey received her's this past Friday during her 4th class. She was so excited and proud and so were we!

First Snow (that stuck) Day

Earlier this week we had our first official snow of the season (it did snow in the area a couple of weeks ago, but it didn't really stick in Erie, so we're not counting it!) Anyway, below are some pics of the kids helping Curtis shovel! They loved it, of course, and Aubrey asks every day if she can go play in the snow, even though there isn't much left anymore! I am NOT a fan of the snow at all, so it's usually a Daddy time event around here! I just wait inside to help get the wet clothes off and have some hot chocolate or apple juice ready for them when they come in! :)

Aubrey LOVES the snow!

Everyone hard at work.

Aubrey and Daddy watching Rylan shovel.

Doesn't he look like such a big boy in his snow suit!

Such a big helper!

November, so far

Here are some pictures we've taken in November. Not to much excitement, just fun and silly times!

Rylan painting, he decided he wanted it to be face paint!

Aubrey loves to paint her hands.

More painting.

A picture of Curtis that Aubrey took.

Aubrey and me getting ready to bake. She decided she wanted to wear an apron, so I found one that would work for her.

She was soooo excited!

So, was Rylan! He knew he was going to get to eat something yummy!

Doesn't she look cute!

One of Rylan's favorite things to do, put buckles together. He gets so excited when he sees them undone, then gets mad as soon as he has them put together because he wants to do them again!

Concentrating very hard!

Me wearing my new PSU hat (for the game we get to go to this weekend) and Curtis' PSU sunglasses! Aubrey took this picture.

One of Rylan's silly faces - he's in between laughing and crying here.

Aubrey wearing the hat and sunglasses (sort of).

Cheesing it up - she's definitley not afraid of the camera!

Helping Hands

A couple of weeks ago, Aidan and Rylan decided to help me clean out our tupperware cabinet! They thought it was great fun to pull all the bowls and lids out and throw them all over the floor! Once they were done, I thought it was time to go through all those lids and bowls and down-size. So, thanks to my wonderful helpers we have a cabinet that is only half full and all the bowls have lids!

Halloween

Ok, so we were having issues with our camera, sent it off to get fixed and got it back in time for Halloween! But I forgot to put the memory card back in, and we only had room for a few pictures. I guess the settings on the camera were changed as well, so the pictures are really big and when I try to post them to the blog it cuts off half of them. So, instead of spending time trying to fix them, I'm posting a link to the photo album they are in. There aren't very many, but I hope you enjoy them anyway!

Below is a link to some pictures taken at Zoo Boo. We went with our friends, The Cranfords (Maddie, Aidan & Baby Caleb) and The Lobaughs (Jeffrey & Jake). Thank goodness we have friends that don't forget their cameras, so that we have some cute pictures to share! Thanks again Jeremy!

"Messy Stuff"

Today Rylan was taking a nap unusually early and Aubrey told me that she wanted to play with the "messy stuff". I asked her what messy stuff and she said, "the stuff that's in the bathroom." I showed her the can of shaving cream and asked her if that was it and she said, "yes, I want to rub it all over!" So, I put her at the table, squirted some on her hands and she went to town. She wrote her letters, drew some shapes and then did some abstract art and said it was a jungle! Of course, if you know Aubrey even a little bit, you know any kind of mess is going to end up all over her! So, she pretended she was Santa Claus, then just a man with a beard and mustache(or hairy lip as Mama Nise taught her)!!!

Apple Picking

Yesterday we went and picked some very yummy apples at a farm outside of Erie. It was a chilly but sunny day and the kids had lots of fun as usual!

Aubrey eating and posing.

Rylan making a break for it.

Rylan and Curtis walking through the orchard.

Aubrey helping Curtis pick our new favorite apples - Shizuka - they are super yummy, sweet, juicy and crisp, even if they are ugly to look at!

Rylan wanted to help to!

Aubrey is still eating her apple!

We all tried out the Shizuka and Rylan was the last one with it, he wouldn't let go of the apple until we finally took it away because all that was left was a little bit of the core!

Aubrey running to catch up with her friend Jeffrey who joined us with his family.

Hey, look, it's me! I actually got in a picture! :)
